about me

I am a self-professed lover of books (when they make me think), Elizabeth Murray, the ocean (recently having come to the conclusion that I was not constructed for inland living), coffee, music (the more obscure the better), pink hair, camels (ask me about the time an old Egyptian man offered my father 60 for my hand in marriage), the New Orleans Saints, and endless marches of parentheses. I hate squirrels and am currently trying to improve my relationship with snow.

In 2011, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in English Lit and Humanistic Studies. In 2013, I completed a Master's program in English. I write, I knit, I eat, and I am still currently unemployed.

I was born in Long Beach, split high school between Bakersfield, CA and Kuwait, but grew up in New Orleans, the place that most closely resembles home. School brought me to the Midwest, and I've been in South Bend, IN for the past few years. Boyfriend and I have huge plans to move back South, eventually. Sandals! In December!

I spend most of my time knitting, applying to jobs, watching Real Housewives, and pretending to be a writer.
